At ECOTIC Envases, we sponsored the 2025 Zurich San Sebastián Marathon, one of the most iconic races in the national calendar, held last Sunday, 23 November, with 11,500 participants.
We installed recycling points at the refreshment stations along the route, as well as at the start and finish areas, ensuring a visible, accessible selective collection system adapted to the flow of runners and spectators.
Each point featured a clearly marked recycling area with ECOTIC Envases branding, helping to ensure proper waste separation and encouraging sustainable habits throughout the event. In addition, awareness messages were incorporated to motivate runners, companions and the public to actively contribute to the care of San Sebastián’s urban environment.
The Zurich San Sebastián Marathon thus strengthened its commitment to reducing the environmental impact of the event. The collaboration with ECOTIC Envases aligned with this strategy, providing a real solution for the responsible management of waste generated and promoting the circular economy at a highly visible sporting event.
The race, known for its flat, seaside urban route and for attracting thousands of national and international participants each year, continued moving towards a more responsible model of sports event management.
