has launched this pilot recycling project in ten shopping centers located in Alicante, Barcelona, Burgos and Madrid.

These shopping centers are introducing state-of-the-art recycling garbage cans designed to make it easy for visitors to recycle lamps, batteries, small electrical appliances and fluorescent tubes in a responsible manner.

The smart garbage cans are equipped with motion sensors to ensure contactless recycling, providing a clean and simple experience. In addition, they have several modular openings for sorting different types of waste, including a special space for fluorescent tubes, which facilitates their adaptation.

The intelligence of these containers is reflected in their ability to be connected and updated remotely, sending automatic notifications when they are full and need to be emptied, and even locking their doors when they reach maximum capacity.

In addition, they have integrated screens that display messages to encourage users to recycle and provide them with information on how their participation contributes to the care of the environment.

With the introduction of the smart garbage cans, these shopping centers that are part of the program become pioneers in hosting recycling solutions of the future. This approach not only increases the amount of resources we can recover, but also reduces the amount of waste that ends up in landfills, thus promoting a more circular and sustainable economy.

After the successful pilot period, which started in October 2023, this network of collection points will be expanded throughout Spain. Our goal is to continue to promote responsible practices and contribute to the care of the environment in our communities.
