Dona Vida al Planeta completes its fourth edition, reaching 400 municipalities in Andalusia

Citizen participation has been key in this journey towards environmental awareness. Thanks to the commitment of Andalusians, a greater understanding of the benefits of WEEE recycling has been achieved.

The campaign‘Donate Life to the Planet‘ has culminated its fourth edition covering 400 municipalities throughout Andalusia. For almost two months, this initiative has deployed an extensive program to raise awareness of the importance of recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), carrying a clear message: every small action counts to preserve our planet.

Driven by WEEE Andalusia and supported by the Department of Sustainability, Environment and the Blue Economy of the Board of Andalusiathe Andalusian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FAMP), y ECOTIC Together with the Extended Producer Responsibility Collective Systems (EPRCS), the campaign has been a success in the region.

During its journey,‘Donate Life to the Planet‘ has deployed more than 740 street marketing actions, reaching the main establishments in the electro sector to hundreds of retail stores. The campaign has emphasized the rights of citizens in the proper management of this waste, promoting its correct collection and dispelling myths about its disposal.

Institutional support has been fundamental to the success of the initiative. Territorial delegates, mayors and university representatives joined together to support the cause, recognizing the urgency of adopting responsible practices to ensure the environmental and economic sustainability of our region.

Citizen participation has been key in this journey towards environmental awareness. Thanks to the commitment of Andalusians, a greater understanding of the benefits of WEEE recycling has been achieved, as well as the reuse of materials for the future production of electronic devices.

But‘Donate Life to the Planet‘ doesn’t stop on the streets. With the hashtag #DonaVidaAlPlaneta, social networks became a space for dialogue and dissemination of information, reaching more than 4.3 million impressions. In addition, the campaign was extended to the media, with press releases, radio spots and television broadcasts that took the message to every corner of Andalusia.

Efforts were not limited to outreach. The informants distributed thousands of pens and cloth bags, while touring the municipalities on electric scooters, answering questions and encouraging participation. In addition, citizen commitment was rewarded with raffles for electric scooters and tablets, giving these devices a second life.

At the same time, the Andalusian Federation of Household Appliances and Other Household Equipment(FAEL) joined the cause, informing and facilitating the delivery of unused appliances in their establishments.

More than a campaign,‘Donate Life to the Planet‘ is a responsible and conscious movement. Every gesture, however small it may seem, brings us one step closer to a sustainable future.
