This regulation establishes that producers who, over the course of a calendar year, place on the market an amount of packaging equal to or exceeding certain thresholds must implement a five-year <strong>business prevention and ecodesign plan<\/strong>, either individually or by joining a <strong>collective plan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>Among the thresholds set by the Royal Decree, the following stand out:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>250 tonnes<\/strong>, if exclusively glass<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>50 tonnes<\/strong>, if exclusively steel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>30 tonnes<\/strong>, if exclusively aluminium<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>20 tonnes<\/strong>, if exclusively plastic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>20 tonnes<\/strong>, if exclusively wood<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>15 tonnes<\/strong>, if exclusively cardboard or composite materials<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>300 tonnes<\/strong>, if involving multiple materials and none individually exceeds the above thresholds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p>Producers must implement these plans starting <strong>from the year following<\/strong> the one in which these thresholds are exceeded.<\/p>\n\n<p>With this new <strong>Collective Packaging Prevention and Ecodesign Plan 2025\u20132029<\/strong>, ECOTIC Envases provides its producers with a collective pathway to meet this regulatory requirement and to advance in improving the environmental performance of packaging placed on the market.<\/p>\n\n<p>The plan includes measures focused on prevention and ecodesign, including:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>increasing the proportion of reusable packaging<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>increasing recyclable packaging<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>improving the physical properties and composition of packaging to enhance reuse or recyclability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>reducing the weight of materials used, especially in single-use packaging<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>reducing the total weight of packaging placed on the market<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>avoiding unnecessarily heavy or oversized packaging<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>incorporating secondary raw materials from recycling, whenever technically and economically feasible<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p>Affiliated companies that believe they may be affected by this obligation can contact <a href=\"mailto:envases@ecotic.es\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">envases@ecotic.es<\/mark><\/a><a id=\"_msocom_1\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ECOTIC Envases makes available to its affiliated producers the Collective Packaging Prevention and Ecodesign Plan 2025\u20132029, a tool designed to facilitate compliance with the obligations established in Royal Decree 1055\/2022 on packaging and packaging waste.
